Gene Hyder is a highly respected photographer among his peers, rodeo contestants, rodeo committees, the Professional Rodeo Cowboys Association (PRCA) and the Women's Professional Rodeo Association. He has been a rodeo photographer for over 40 years. Many of Gene’s photographs have earned the honor of being published in the Rodeo industries' most popular monthly publication – the PSN (Prorodeo Sports News Magazine).
Armed with the tools of his trade, award winning and distinguished PRCA Photographer, Gene will enter the rodeo arena at the 2014 RAM PRCA California Circuit Finals Rodeo. Not only will he photograph all of the “inside the arena action” - but more importantly, he will capture and preserve the many special memories this Championship Rodeo is sure to deliver!

As we said above, Gene has been a rodeo photographer for over four decades. In years past, Gene has taken many photos of contestants (back in the days when he only took black and white photos and sold them for $2 each.) He now finds himself in rodeo arenas taking photos of many of those contestants' sons and daughters who are now rodeo contestants themselves! In 2007, Gene was honored by the PRCA for his excellence in rodeo photography and was presented with his buckle.
