Please join us in wishing "The King of Rodeo", Mr. Cotton Rosser, a very
Happy Birthday!
At 87 years young, Cotton shows no signs of slowing down anytime soon. This past year has been, once again, quite an amazing year for the King of Rodeo. One of the Nation's most successful rodeo promoters, Cotton is also a member of the Pro Rodeo Hall of Fame (inducted 1995), a Doctor of Science (Honorary Degree from his California Polytechnic State University, San Luis Obispo), a family man, a cowboy, a mentor, Stock Contractor - Flying U Rodeo ( website / Facebook ) and a man who has been described as one who has "never met a stranger."
This past April, Mr. Rosser was inducted into the "Hall of Great Westerners", at the National Cowboy & Western Heritage Museum in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma ( website ), for his "Lifetime of exceptional contributions and promotion of Western heritage and traditions, achievements of national significance and historic relevance, and exemplifying the traditional ideals of honesty, integrity, and self sufficiency."
In a recent interview with Kendra Santos for the Wrangler Network, Mr. Rosser said of his induction into the Hall of Great Westerners, "That’s like winning the all-around, and I couldn’t have won it if I’d been a rodeo hand,” said ProRodeo stock contractor Rosser. “I might have had a gold belt buckle, but I wouldn’t have lived the life I have and met the people I’ve met."
“When I look at the men who’ve been honored before me (with the Great Westerner Award) — Ronald Reagan and Dwight Eisenhower —it’s the greatest thing that ever happened,” Rosser said. “This is tall cotton for me. What a great honor.”

Mr. Rosser calls Marysville, California home. It is also the home of the Marysville Stampede ( website / Facebook ) and is home to Cotton's Cowboy Corral ( Facebook ). For his birthday, his son, Reno, and the Flying U Crew, presented Cotton with his "new ride" (photo courtesy of Karin Rosser).
Happy Birthday Mr. Rosser and many more!
