Home of the 2015 California High School Rodeo Association State Finals!
Contestants are already rolling into the beautiful town of Bishop, California! June 16-19, 2015, about 300 members of the California High School Rodeo Association (CHSRA), will be roping, riding, tying, racing, buckin', cuttin', and having the time of their lives, at the Eastern Sierra Tri-County Fairgrounds ( Facebook ) in Bishop, California, for the 2015 CHSRA State Finals! The 4 days of rodeo start Tuesday, however, fun family-oriented events are planned all week, starting today.
These 300 contestants are made up of the top 5 contestants, from each event, from each of the CHSRA's nine (9) Districts (see below for CHSRA District breakdown). The cowboys and cowgirls (the future of professional rodeo!) will be vying for the State Championships. Additionally, the top four contestants in each event, will qualify to participate in the National High School rodeo Finals (NHSRA) which will be held in Rock Springs, Wyoming (Sweetwater Events Complex) July 12-18, 2015.

These contestants have worked all year within their own California Districts to earn the opportunity to go to the Finals! This week, they will compete in: Barrels, Bareback Riding, Breakaway, Bull Riding, Cutting, Pole Bending, Saddle Bronc Riding, Steer Wrestling, Team Roping, Tie Down Roping, 22 Lt Rifle, Shotgun, and of course, CHSRA Queen event.
