As part of the Centennial Celebration, a bronze statue of Lane Frost and Red Rock depicting Lane Frost's legendary attempt to ride Red Rock at the Clovis Rodeo in 1988, was dedicated on April 23, 2014. Many dignitaries were in attendance to witness the dedication of this "moment in rodeo history", including Lane's parents, Clyde and Elsie Frost, as well as John Growney and Sue Rosoff. Visitors will see the 14 foot bronze statue by Jim Stuckenberg (website), as they enter the rodeo grounds.
Professional Rodeo Announcer Wayne Brooks ( website ) will be calling all of the PRCA/WPRA rodeo action at all three performances of the Clovis Rodeo. Stock Contractors - Burch Rodeo Company (Facebook) and Growney Brothers Rodeo Company ( website / Facebook ) will provide the animal athletes for the 100th Annual Clovis Rodeo. PRCA Photographer Matt Cohen ( website / Facebook ), Dan Hubbel ( Facebook ), and Larry Smith ( website ) will be on hand to capture the memories.
Twelve Time PRCA Specialty Act of the Year - John Payne - "The One Arm Bandit" ( website / Facebook ) will entertain rodeo fans! Barrelman JJ Harrison and Pick-up men Bobby Marriott and Matt Twitchell will be in the arena for the safety of our cowboys and animal athletes. Rodeo Secretary will be Haley Schneeberger (seven time "PRCA Secretary of the Year" award winner) and the Rodeo Timers are Sherry Sheldon-Gibson and Diana Alexander. The Riata Ranch Cowboy Girls will also make a special appearance (website / Facebook ).
Newly crowned Miss Rodeo Clovis 2014, Jocelynn Barrington, will reign over the Centennial Celebration at the Clovis Rodeo.
