Amanda is honored to represent her hometown Woodlake Lions PRCA Rodeo and represent and promote the sport she holds close to her heart. The Woodlake Lions Rodeo has been held annually on Mother’s Day Weekend for the past 60 years. Amanda would like to take this opportunity to invite you to the 61st Annual Woodlake Lions PRCA Rodeo (May 10th and 11th, 2014) to experience the excitement of professional rodeo.
Amanda is 22 years old and is a Senior at Fresno State University. She plans to graduate this spring with a Bachelor’s Degree in Agriculture Education. Amanda is on the Rodeo Team at Fresno State where she competes in breakaway roping and barrel racing.
Amanda’s rodeo career started long before college. At the age of 10, she started competing in junior rodeos and then moved up to the California High School Rodeo Association where she competed in team roping, breakaway roping, cutting, barrel racing, and pole bending.
While competing in High School Rodeo she also showed Reined Cow Horses in the Valley Cow Horse Association and the National Reined Cow Horse Association. During these years she competed at the NRCHA World Finals and placed 3rd twice in the youth, placed 5th in the nation twice, and placed 1st in the South Western States. More than anything, Amanda enjoys the time she spends with, and strong support she receives from, her family and her horses - without them she would not be where she is today. Her big bay American Quarter Horse, “Bull”, has also been her backbone in her accomplishments.
Amanda would like to say thank you to her family, friends, and her sponsors for an amazing year to come as your 2013 Miss Woodlake Lions Rodeo Queen.
