2012 California Agriculture Day in Sacramento, CA

California Agriculture (AG) Day is an annual event designed to recognize California’s agricultural community by showcasing the numerous commodities that are produced in our state – and the farmers and ranchers who bring them to our tables. It is also a day for the agricultural community to show its appreciation of Californians by bringing together state legislators, government leaders, and the public for a half day of agricultural education and treats.

The March 21, 2012 California Agricultural (AG) Day was one of the most successful AG Days we can remember. There was a great turnout for the day’s events. Our California Circuit was well represented not only by many long-time supporters and friends of Rodeo, but by many stock contractors and other California Rodeo Committees and volunteers as well. Miss Rodeo California 2012, Mackenzie Cayford, as well as 2011 Miss California Rodeo Salinas, Kendra Brennan, were also in attendance to lend their support.

We had the pleasure to meet with California State Assemblyman Steve Knight. Last year, the California Circuit Finals Rodeo was held in Assemblyman Knight’s District at the Antelope Valley Fairgrounds and we are proud that the California Circuit Finals will once again return to the AV Fairgrounds October 19, 20, and 21, 2012.

Recently, Assemblyman Knight appointed Johnny Zamrzla to the Antelope Valley Fair’s Joint Powers Authority (JPA) Board, which is the new management of the Antelope Valley Fairgrounds. In turn, the five member JPA Board voted Johnny Zamrzla as Chairman.

“We have been privileged to have the support of Assemblyman Knight, not just as a long-time supporter of the AV Fair, but of the Professional Bull Riders, the PRCA Rodeo, the WPRA, and now the California Circuit Finals Rodeo” said Zamrzla.
