There has been a host of community events/traditions leading up to the rodeo including the crowning of rodeo royalty.  This morning, the entire Oakdale community will come together for the Oakdale Rodeo Parade.  Congratulations to this year's Grand Marshal, Vanetta Sipe.  She has called Oakdale home since 1957.  Active in her community, she has been a member and supporter of the Oakdale Saddle Club for 62 years (she was the 22nd member!).  Naming Vanetta Grand Marshal was the communities way of saying thank you for all she does.  Vanetta is also known, with love and affection, as "The Corn Dog Lady".  You will find her at the rodeo at her stand, where she has been for the past 50 years!  Please stop by and say hi, and wish her an early birthday - Vanetta will turn 100 years old in June!  Congratulations Maam!

Congratulations to your 2018 Miss Rodeo Oakdale, Sylvana Talamantes.  We wish you an exciting reign!  You can follow Miss Rodeo Oakdale on Facebook
